On 24 March 1999 NATO began its air strikes on what was then the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; this constituted the first combat mission of German troops since the end of World War II. We would like to use this 20th anniversary of the NATO intervention as an opportunity to discuss the legacy of this event with experts and with the parties involved.

Where is the European Union headed?

At our conference “After Europe goes to the polls: Where is the European Union headed?”, we will analyse the election results, examine the causes of voting behaviour in the individual EU member states, and discuss with European experts how the new majorities will impact the European Parliament's ability to act, the interaction between the EU institutions, and the orientation of future EU policy.
