‘27’ brings together four artists, varied in their practice, whose work dwells in the dissonances, the fractures, the incoherencies that are woven through the lives of many Kenyans. For those among us who are female-bodied, queer identifying, or anyone who is recognized as non-heteronormative, navigating society is a matter of survival from day to day, moment to moment. Faith Wanjala, Awuor Onyango, Wawira Njeru, and Kawira Mwirichia offer a meditation on the failed promise of equality and inclusivity. Join us in a discussion of their work and practice.
Featuring: Awuor Onyango, Faith Wanjala, Wawira Njeru, Kawira Mwirichia
