Germany has long been a society of immigrants. 800,000 newcomers, living here since 2015, have freshly awakened us to this reality. But, where do we go from here? As part of the conference „Face it!,“ invited initiativies with funding institutions, as well as media representatives, will discuss how we can continue to advocate for the values of coexistence and open-mindedness during and beyond this election year.

To conclude the conference, WIRMACHENDAS ( invites you to take part in a podium discussion entitled „Scene of a Crime – Immigration Society: The Role of Television.“ Program developers, actresses, and culture journalists will come together to discuss how public television can be used to transcend clichés and stereotypes about immigrant society. Following the podium discussion, there will be a concert given by Ali Hasan and Bernadette La Hengst. Funded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb), Face it! is organized by WIR MACHEN DAS in cooperation with the Gunda-Werner Institute in the Heinrich-Böll Foundation.
