The Inequality Crisis in Kenya and around the world; the fight for our lives

Rising inequality in Kenya damages our society and democracy and increases vulnerability of the poor to violence, exploitation and abuse. Less than 0.1% of the population (8,300 people) own more wealth than the bottom 99.9% (more than 44 million people) in Kenya today. The forum will screen the Black Panther movie which will form a basis for the conversation. The panel discussion will also discuss structural inequality and the inter linkage with other SDGs.

Key discussion points:

  • The state of inequality in Kenya and around the world. What does it mean for Kenya?
  •  Collective action; what can we do?
