Addressing Disinformation

The Digital Policy Cluster invites you to a global Böll workshop on how to address disinformation. This session marks a highlight at the end of our cluster’s pilot phase. All colleagues from across the Böll network are warmly invited!

What’s it about?
Disinformation is something we encounter regularly – sometimes subtly, sometimes loudly, whether online or in direct conversations. As a green-affiliated foundation, we often find ourselves the target of disinformation campaigns, especially around topics such as queerness and climate change – sometimes accompanied by hostile comments.

In this interactive 90-minute workshop, we’ll explore together how disinformation works and how we can respond. The session will be informative and hands-on:

  • How can we identify disinformation – and respond effectively?
  • What should we do when facing an online backlash or targeted attacks?
  • What responsibilities do we have as editors and publishers of our foundation’s websites?
  • How can we take meaningful action against disinformation, even with limited resources?

The workshop will include a brief expert input by Das NETTZ on definitions and dynamics of disinformation, followed by concrete practical examples and small-group sessions for reflection, exchange, and discussion.

All colleagues from the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung worldwide – regardless of department or role – are welcome.

No preparation needed. Just bring yourself. We look forward to seeing you there!
