Agrifood Atlas
Brussels Launch
Heinrich Böll Foundation, Friends of the Earth Europe and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation invite you to a press breakfast to launch the international ‘Agrifood Atlas’.
The new report – a unique and comprehensive summary of facts and graphics – reveals that the current consolidations in the food and farming sectors are creating huge monopolies driving devastating impacts along the entire global value chain, from farm to plate.
The launch comes as the European Commission faces a crunch decision on whether to authorise the potential Bayer-Monsanto mega-merger, and after Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan’s surprise announcement to rein in supermarkets’ outsize buying power.
Panellists:
- Olivier de Schutter, former UN special rapporteur on the right to food, and co-chair of the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems
- Benjamin Luig, Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, Coordination Food Sovereignty Dialogue
Moderation: Francesca Gater, Friends of the Earth Europe
