Capacity Building (Agora industry & hbs)

Renewable Energy and Industrial Decarbonisation Training

Capacity Building "Renewable Energy and Industrial Decarbonisation Training" by Agora Industry and hbs

Training duration: Monday 24th to Friday 28th of March 2025, 1 week (after the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogues)

Costs: Total costs per participant €1.500,00 (plus accommodation, flight & visa costs, daily allowance, public transport etc.)

Please register bindingly by 17 October 2024 at the latest

The aim is to get ~10 participants together to make the training possible. If there is a lot of interest, we will set up a transparent process for allocating places and go ahead with the concept development.

The training will be centered around the main objectives of:

Knowledge building: The training equips participants with the energy transition knowledge required to assess different pathways to decarbonisation and transfer this knowledge to the context of their country.

Enhanced advocacy/ Communication: Equipping participants with the techno-economic knowledge required to underpin the advocacy work will increase their capacity to argue for ambitious and feasible solutions. To further enhance the impact of participants' advocacy efforts, the training also deepens their communication and messaging skills.

Networking and Collaboration: The training fosters a small core-group of informed professionals within the hbs who can collaborate and share best practices across countries and regions after the training ends. The training also provides opportunities to build up relationships with Agora experts as well as potentially with other Berlin based stakeholders.

The transition to a decarbonized energy and industrial sector is crucial for achieving global climate goals. Civil society organizations and research institutions, especially think tanks and international actors such as the Heinrich Böll Foundation, have a crucial role to play in providing research and solutions as well as promoting dialogue and exchange to achieve a just and equitable energy transition. To make meaningful progress, experienced professionals with solid technological and economic knowledge, but also with the ability and experience to disseminate their knowledge, are needed.
