”Commons! Creative Ways of Activism and Participation“

We are pleased to invite you to the Conference ”Commons! Creative Ways of Activism and Participation“, which will take place on 13-14 June in Banja Luka at the Hotel Bosna.

The conference will bring together Western Balkan and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian civil society representatives to explore and discuss opportunities and strengths related to the concept of commons to stimulate democratic state building processes in the Western Balkans.

More specifically, it will look at potential solutions to strengthen urban commons initiatives in the Western Balkans. The conference will also serve to exchange ideas on different aspects of commons and cases of struggles for the commons in Western Balkans and explore possibilities for ongoing exchanges of findings and experiences.

The conference will comprise:

1. Discussion on social and political relevance of the commons in the current moment in Western Balkan countries;
2. Theoretical introduction into the concept of commons;
3. Presentations of cases of struggles for the commons;
4. Interactive working groups to gather your views.
5. Inputs to the media strategies

The working language of the conference will be English and BHS languages, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

We very much hope you are interested in participating. The organizer will cover the costs of travel and accommodation for all participants in accordance with the HBF financial guidelines.
