Congress of Young Europeans

Budapest

We are happy to announce the Congress of Young Europeans, taking place in Budapest from 3 until 6 September 2015.

The congress is organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the Green European Foundation, the Federation of Young European Greens and Ecopolis Foundation, and is the third in a series of annual events: after the Berlin (2013) and Thessaloniki (2014) congresses, this year it will take place in Budapest.

At the four-day congress, selected participants from all over Europe will have a chance to come together in this culturally diverse and politically charged Central-European capital and discuss their visions of the future of Europe.

The Budapest Congress will be organized around the idea and theme of “CONTEMPORARY SPACE”: your understanding of and role in virtual, social, cultural, and all kinds of public spaces in Europe which is being re-defined the very moment you are reading this text.

The thematic priorities of the Budapest Congress entitled “(Re)Claim Your Space in Europe” are:

  • freedoms, rights and liabilities in the digital age,
  • urban future and
  • education for the future – the future of education

Additionally, a special focus will be on the current developments in Ukraine and its implications for Europe.

The program of the congress and the workshops is going to be published on the website of the congress: www.youthcongress.boellblog.org
