The Economization of Nature
Visions of Bioeconomy - international literature festival berlin
Can and may one economize nature? More and more institutions are using the conservation of species and their habitats as financial offsets. If nature has a price, then who sets it? What methods can be used to measure environmental costs and the ecological benefits of complex ecosystems? Can the destruction of nature be compensated by investing in nature conservation elsewhere? The author Andreas Martin Widmann [D] presents his text and discusses with the political scientist Barbara Unmüßig [D].
The event will be held in German.
