Europe at a crossroads

Germany’s contribution to the future of Europe

The euro crisis, Brexit, the controversy over the refugee policy and various other crises on the world stage: Europe is being tested on many fronts. Many citizens are wondering if the European Union has the means to cope with the many challenges it is facing today.

All over Europe we are witnessing political debates about how to best reform the EU, with Berlin being no exception.

We would like to discuss with Katrin Göring-Eckardt, Chairwoman of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group (the Greens) in the German Bundestag, and Manfred Weber, Chairman of the Group of the European People’s Party (EPP) in the European Parliament, how Germany could best contribute to the future of Europe.

What is Germany’s responsibility when it comes to EU reform? How can we tackle the challenges ahead? Which common projects should Europe focus on, and which roles are there to play for the German Bundestag and the European Parliament?

We are looking forward to an open dialogue and a frank discussion on the responsibility of Germany for the future of Europe.
