Flight - A history of mankind

A discussion with Andreas Kossert, author of the book

A discussion with Andreas Kossert

Andreas Kossert, renowned expert on flight and expulsion in the 20th century and author of the bestseller „Kalte Heimat“ ("Cold Homeland"), places in his new book the refugee movement of the early 21st century in a broad historical context. On Thursday, June 9, 2002 at 6:00 p.m., he will present his book, which has won several awards, at the library of the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki. The discussion partner will be Neda Noraie-Kia, head of migration policy Europe of the Heinrich Böll Foundation.

Always close to the individual fates and in a moving way, Kossert shows the existential experiences of uprooting and hostility that go hand in hand with the loss of one's homeland - and why it has always been so difficult for refugees and displaced persons to put down new roots in a foreign land.
