Hereby we would like to cordially invite you to the panel discussion “The Future of Democracy in Europe”.
Almost 30 years after the fall of the Iron Curtain Europe is drifting apart. Right wing populists and conspiracy theorists attack the core values of open and plural societies. Democracy is under pressure in a significant number of EU member states. What needs to be done to strengthen democracy and societal cohesion in Europe? How can young people shape the future of Europe? What are their needs and visions? How can we make Europe a tangible experience for all its citizens?
The event will take place in the frame of the Congress of Young Europeans, an annual international conference organised by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Green European Foundation in cooperation with international and local youth organisations. During the congress, 70 participants from all over Europe will take part in workshops and discussions.
