Description:
Come learn about and discuss the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF), which describes itself as “a global, open platform that facilitates the preparation and structuring of complex infrastructure PPPs to enable mobilization of private sector and institutional investor capital.” It will support projects that are “climate smart” and “trade enabling” and that, among other things, have a positive development impact and align with country priorities.

The GIF was founded in October 2014 and launches this month. In terms of project preparation, it specializes in 1) Enabling environment (including legal, regulatory and institutional reforms) and project definition/screening; 2) Project Preparation and Investment Feasibility; 3) Transaction Support and Financial Structuring; and 4) Financing Arranging and Credit Enhancement.

Those who RSVP will receive background information on the GIF and suggested background readings.
