Green Tea Morning - Indo-German Climate, Energy and Development Cooperation Post-German Federal Elections

We invite you to join us for a discussion on the future of Indo-German cooperation in climate, energy, and development following the recent German federal elections. This session will bring together experts and stakeholders from both countries to examine Germany’s evolving policy landscape in likely coalition scenarios, identify new opportunities for collaboration, and outline the next steps for strengthening bilateral cooperation – including the Green and Sustainable Development Partnership. A key focus will be the India-Germany Platform for Investments in Renewable Energies Worldwide. We will explore its role in and recent developments for driving sustainable investment and innovation for the just/people-centred transition.

At the same time, as the new US administration fundamentally reshapes its international engagement, questions arise how this might influence Indo-German relations. Despite its challenges, the unfolding situation also presents a unique opportunity for the European Union and its member states to further deepen their partnership with India in multiple areas, including climate action, renewable energy and the development agenda. This discussion will touch on how Germany and India can navigate these global developments while deepening their collaboration.

The Green Tea Morning dialogue series wants to contribute towards a common understanding of an inclusive, just and sustainable Indo-German perspective on climate and sustainable development policies in Germany.
