High-Level Session Details
The Climate Champions Team, Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Green Hydrogen Organisation, H2LAC, The Green Hydrogen Catapult, & Bread for the World would like to invite you to the first Hydrogen Global Governance (hereinafter referenced as ‘HG2’) convening at the inaugural Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC).
The convening will establish a recurring forum to discuss the implementation of the responsible deployment of renewables-based hydrogen. HSC will continue to act as the anchor point for this annual HG2 convening with the ultimate goal to better embed sustainability and transparency within the development of the hydrogen economy.

Key Target Outcomes
The HG2 convening will bring to life the myriad of key risks and potential opportunities associated with hydrogen-related development. The meeting will build off of the insights and work of the Joint-Agreement on the Responsible Deployment of Renewables-Based Hydrogen (version 2.0 to be released in January 2025 following HSC & COP29 with substantive, stakeholder-led deep-dives into the 6 thematic areas in coordination with all 60+ public & private organisations which form the Joint-Agreement Coalition (JAC).
The event is itself a representation of good governance in convening a diverse group of impacted stakeholders and debating the potential positive and/or negative impacts of various developments across the following six thematic areas. Outputs from HG2 @HSC will serve to further inform the Joint-Agreement 2.o and help build consensus across a variety of governance arenas.
