Kosovo election debrief
Parliamentary elections will be held in Kosovo on February 9th 2025. Prime minister Albin Kurti is seeking re-election, while it seems impossible for the governing party Vetëvendosje to gain absolute majority, as was the case back in 2021. They will have to look for partners from the current opposition after the elections. It is something at stake, the election campaign so far is heated to the point of hate speech.
With the invited experts, political analysts from civil society and international think tanks, we want to take a closer look at the consequences of the election result and examine the goals and achievements of the 2021-25 legislative period. What coalitions do the results suggest? What do the constellations mean for the region and for the future of Kosovo?
