Loss and Damage Financing in Southeast Asia:

The Strategic Collaborative Fund Phase 2 of the Stockholm Environmental Institute aims to foster regional cooperation and policy dialogue for sustainable development and environmental sustainability through capacity building, knowledge sharing, and increased collaboration. As part of its 2022 Regional Environmental Policy Dialogues, the Manila Observatory, with partner organizations The Samdhana Institute and the Chiang Mai University, held a workshop last August 2022 titled "Making Sense of and Responding to Loss & Damage in Southeast Asia”.

Participants from Southeast Asia came together to discuss loss and damage specific to the region, as well as agreed on the need for the creation of a loss and damage financing facility. Made possible with the support of Stockholm Environment Institute Asia, Heinrich Böll Foundation, and The Samdhana Institute.

On 06 October 2022, we hope to release the results of the workshop during the webinar titled “Loss and Damage Financing in Southeast Asia: Current issues and ways forward”.
