We are excited to invite you to an one-day Myanmar Exile Community Workshop focused on fostering connections, enhancing knowledge, and inspiring collective action among newly arrived members of the Myanmar community in Germany.
  

Workshop Goals

🔗 Build Connections
 Meet fellow members of the Myanmar exile community and establish a trusted support network.

📚 Gain Knowledge
 Learn about your rights and key legal frameworks for living in Germany through expert-led sessions.

🤝 Collaborate and Organize
 Voice your needs, share ideas, and plan future initiatives to strengthen our community.

 

Agenda

9:30 AM – Welcome and Introductions

  • Get to know each other, clarify expectations, and establish community guidelines.

10:15 AM – Block I: Legal Rights and Support in Germany

  • Input by Christopher Wohnig, Lawyer (with Burmese translation).
  • Discuss asylum, passports, and your rights in small groups.

11:15 AM – Coffee Break

11:30 AM – Block II: Learn from Other Exile Communities

  • Insights from Afghan and Belarusian communities in Berlin, and Exile Hub working with the Myanmar community in Chiang Mai
  • Group discussions on community organizing and diaspora activities.

1:00 PM – Lunch (will be provided by Heinrich Böll Foundation)

2:00 PM – Block III: Open Space for Future Planning

  • Collaborate on ideas for future activities, including community-building events and information-sharing sessions.

4:15 PM – Fun Common Activity

  • End the day with a joyful group activity, such as cooking and sharing a meal together.
     

Who Should Attend?

Approximately 15-20 participants from the Myanmar exile community in Berlin and across Germany are invited to join this interactive workshop.

This is a unique opportunity to come together, strengthen our bonds, and shape the future of the community in Germany.
