National Consultation on Civil Society Position Papers
In continuation of our efforts to establish linkages between Indian voluntary organizations at the grass roots and national level with international networks and multilateral forums such as G20, BRICS and IBSA, VANI together with HBS coordinated a study on four thematic issues which are central to the current discussions on conceiving a Post-2015 Development Agenda. The themes were ascertained through widespread discussions with partner organizations and research was undertaken by specialist NGOs in the respective field.
The policy papers are on:
- Inclusive Growth
- Financial Inclusion
- Sustainable Development
- Governance Issues and Anti-Corruption
In order to take this process forward, we are organizing a National Consultation on Civil Society Position Papers on Thematic Issues on September 24, 2014 from 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. at VANI Office, BB-5, 1st Floor, Greater Kailash Enclave-II, New Delhi-110048. The objective of the meeting is to present the findings of the draft study and initiate discussion on the position papers on the select themes, which have been developed from a Civil Society’s perspective. It will also focus on identifying advocacy points and how these reports may feed into policy processes of line ministries and global thematic campaigns.
Recently, VANI and HBS organized an International Seminar on South-South Cooperation, where the national networks of Cambodia, Brazil, Nepal and Philippines were represented. We intend to also share the major outcomes and recommendations of this deliberation.
