The new German government and the future of EU reforms
Many political observers were expecting a push for closer European integration following the election of French president Emmanuel Macron and his EU reform proposals. While also the new German government intends to strengthen the European Union, opposition against EU policies is increasing in several member states. In addition, some of the northern European countries have recently criticized many of Macron's proposals and called for less ambitious reforms.
