Opening of ARCK Exhibition

In collaboration with the Gerda Henkel and Heinrich Boll Foundations, as well as the Museums Association of Namibia (MAN) and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, the National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN) and the National Museum of Namibia (NMN) herewith cordially invites you to the official opening of the 'ARCK' Exhibition. This ground-breaking showcase of the Artistic Research and Communal Knowledge: Reconnecting with Returned Cultural Belongings (ARCK) looks to enlighten the exploration into the origins of 23 repatriated artifacts of Namibian material culture. Through this, it aims to pay homage to oral, performative and artisanal histories, preserved, and cared for within communities despite their suppression during colonialism and continued marginalization after Namibia's independence.

Venue: The National Art Gallery of Namibia (Cnr. of Robert Mugabe Ave. and John Meinert Str.)
Time: 17h30
