Presentation of Piotr Sztompka's book “Sociology. An Analysis of Society”

We kindly invite you to the presentation of the Ukrainian translation of the textbook "Sociology. An Analysis of Society" with the participation of the famous Polish sociologist Piotr Sztompka, an author of the book.

Throughout the book prof. Sztompka presents basic sociological models and theories concerning the development and functioning of communities and societies. The author elucidates these theoretical models on the basis of real and fictional episodes of everyday life.

Although this work is a textbook, it is addressed not only to sociologists but to all who seek better understanding of themselves and their place in society. On the micro level, such an understanding is a condition of a well-lived life. On the macro level - the more people have such an understanding the greater the chance for the successful development of the entire country.

• Piotr Sztompka, prominent Polish sociologist, an author of the book "Sociology. An Analysis of Society";
• Volodymyr Turchynovskyy, dean of UCU Faculty of Social Sciences;
• Oksana Mikheieva, UCU prof. and DAAD-scholar of the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt, Germany);
• Halyna Teodorobych, translator;
• Yaroslav Rushchyshyn, deputy, co-founder, and Board Member of the Lviv Business School (LvBS).

The event will be moderated by Sofia Oliynyk, “Democracy Endowment” program coordinator at Heinrich Boell Foundation, Kyiv Ukraine — Ukraine.

Language: Ukrainian and English (simultaneous translation).
