Seeking Health Across the Border
The second panel of the series ASEAN People in Flux in collaboration with the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Southeast Asia will focus on Southeast Asia as a well-know medical tourism destination especially, and contrary to popular belief, for patients from within the region. Southeast Asians are travelling for healthcare because of costs, quality or simply because they have no other choices. While governments are facilitating the medical tourism industry and travel for health purposes, there are many impacts on health systems and public health that need to be better understood
