Storymoja Hay Festival 2014: 17th - 21st September

Storymoja Hay Festival 2014, running from 17th to 21st September, brings together storytellers who use different ways to communicate e.g books, poems, visual art etc. The Festival has activities such as debates, concerts, film screenings, lectures and performances and provides a platform for the flowering of the human spirit through the beauty of literature and art. It provides an ideal space to celebrate the best of African literature by showcasing unparalleled performances and the finest artists and talent in Africa and beyond.

This year's event, which is being sponsored by amongst others, the Heinrich Boell Stiftung, brings together renown and world-famous writers, photojourmnalist, poets, and visual artists.

On Sunday 21st, we highly recommend you visit the Careerpedia Tent on Art & Democracy and meet famous writers like Teju Cole (Nigeria), Michela Wrong (UK), and Nancy Della (Germany). Amongst them is Photojournalist Boniface Mwangi (Kenya) and the British High Commissioner to Kenya who will be present to discuss how art promotes democratic ideals in society while Catherine Gacheru will be the Moderator.
