Forum Summary

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were implemented in September 2015 and are 17 in total. The SDGs aim to complete the objectives of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) whose timeline ended this year.

The SDGs aim to achieve 3 broad objectives: to end extreme poverty, to fight inequality and injustice as well as to fix climate change.

The Gender Forum this month seeks to discuss, understand and analyze SDG no.5 i.e. Gender Equality. This goal recognizes that while the world has achieved progress towards gender equality and women empowerment, more still needs to be done.

Our expert panelists will localize the conversation and seek to explain this goal with the ordinary citizen in mind. Representatives from the government, civil society and grassroots organizations will be present.
