Ukraine Energy Reforms: An Environmentalist's Perspective

In his initial input Illia Yeremenko will present his assessment on the effectiveness of the ongoing Ukrainian energy sector transition and share the experience of three model cases for reforms on the local level: A Revolving Fund for Energy Efficiency in Slavuta, an Energy cooperative in Berezdiv, and the Energy efficiency program of Rivne oblast.
Further on, there will be opportunity to discuss successes and challenges of Ukrainian energy sector reforms in open roundtable format.
“Ecoclub” from Rivne in North Western Ukraine is an energy-oriented environmental NGO. The organization has more than 10 years of experience on energy efficiency consultancy and promotion including educational activities and advocacy. Heinrich Böll Stiftung Ukraine partners with Ecoclub Rivne already for more than 20 years. Ecoclub cooperates with DRA since 2016 and is hosting Illia Yeremenko from January to March 2019 for a research fellowship.
