What Civil Society Needs to Know about the Green Climate Fund - A Teach-In

During this interactive event, Green Climate Fund NGO experts will provide a clinic on the Fund for civil society participants.  The organizers will present the range of opportunities and challenges for civil society involvement with the GCF from a climate justice perspective, and will workshop options for participation in the Fund, paying also particular attention to the gender dimension of engagement with the Fund.  A long Q&A session will allow civil society participants to pose questions for GCF exerts about working with the Fund and exchange best practices for engagement.  The event will create an open space for civil society to engage in discussions about their relationships with this new and important climate finance institution, which promises a "paradigm shift" in financing for developing countries and allows recipient countries direct access.
