Cultures of Peace: Festival of the Northeast

Venue: India Club, Next to District Library, Dighali Pukhuri, Guwahati
Zubaan in collaboration with Heinrich Böll Foundation has started Cultures of Peace  Festival in 2011 to create awareness about the Northeast of India to the rest of country and also to bring them closer to each other as there is often very little communication between people from northeast to the ‘mainstream’ India and also within the northeast. Our main idea is that cultural exchanges are a way to build peace and also to remove the fear that enters people’s minds when they do not comprehend the ‘other’.

The festival has been growing with each year and expanding its reach to different cities, people and spaces. The events for this year have been broadly conceptualized in two different cities, Guwahati and Delhi.
