Gender and economic policy discussion forum XXXIII
Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic & subsequent lockdown on violence and women’s security
Venue: Zoom platform
We are happy to announce next in the series of the XXXIII Gender and Economic Policy Discussion Forum. The online discussion is titled 'Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic & subsequent lockdown on violence and women’s security'.
The pandemic has shed light on the urgent need for an intersectional approach that integrates the politics of gender, caste, spaces and informality while examining issues of violence. It is for this reason that we seek to invite a diverse panel that is able to bring out vulnerabilities and violations across each of these socio-spatial locations including informal workplaces and homes. During the discussion, we hope to draw out tangible pertinent policy asks in addition to shedding light on many violent and often invisible implications of the pandemic.
