Contested Mobility Norms in Africa Webinar

On 22nd October 2024 at 2pm EAT, we will present the “Contested Mobility Norms in Africa: Reconciling Visions, Policies and Practice” report prepared by Amanda Bisong and Franzisca Zanker. This report, published by the Heinrich Böll Foundation in April 2024, brings together more than 20 interviews with African experts on migration and mobility to provide a detailed insight into discrepancies between the normative understanding, policies and actual practice of Migration on the African continent. The aim of the report is to contribute to a better understanding of the practical, socio-cultural and political challenges of migration and mobility in Africa.

Our panel consisting of migration experts will critically discuss the findings with the authors whilst giving their own perspectives on existing policies and practices.
