25 Years After Chernobyl: Is a Nuclear Renaissance Likely?

A Transatlantic Dialogue on Nuclear Power

The recent earthquake damage to several reactors in Japan has again highlighted the potential hazards of nuclear power in a dramatic way. Over the last years, there is much talk of a new age of nuclear power. However, in advance of these current events and the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Worldwatch Institute have both conducted studies indicating that prospects for a nuclear energy future remain dim. In light of these developments, many countries are debating the role that nuclear power will play in worldwide efforts to shift to low-carbon energy.

Please join the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America and the Worldwatch Institute for a lively discussion of nuclear power’s future.
