Acting Together for Sustainable Peace: National Action Plans for UNSCR 1325, Brussels
UNSCR 1325, the cornerstone of international action on mainstreaming gender in peacebuilding, calls for the specific needs of women to be taken into account in post- conflict situations and for greater representation of women at all levels of decision making. The most effective way to translate the goals of UNSCR 1325 into reality is through the creation of National Action Plans (NAPs), which so far have only been created in six EU Member States.
This event aims to bring national experts and civil society representatives together to share their experiences and expertise. It will be attended by representatives of the governments of Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, UK, the European Commission and the Council.
