Berlin: Jenseits des Iraks / Beyond Iraq

Mit dieser Konferenz eröffnet die Heinrich- Böll-Stiftung eine längerfristig angelegte Auseinandersetzung mit den aktuellen Entwicklungen in dieser Region und mit der Nahostpolitik der EU und der USA. <br><br>Dabei stützen wir uns auf die langjährige Projektarbeit der Stiftung im Nahen Osten und im Maghreb. Wir wollen nicht über, sondern mit Partnern aus der Region reden. Im Zentrum steht der Austausch über die gegenseitige Problemanalyse, entsprechende Lösungsvorschläge und politische Strategien. Zukünftige Veranstaltungen werden auch in arabischen Ländern, in Israel, in den Mitgliedsländern der EU und in den USA stattfinden.<br> <ol><li>Herausforderungen für Demokratie, Modernisierung und Entwicklung in der Arabischen Welt</li><li> Initiativen aus Europa, Nordamerika und der Region</li><li> Initiativen zur Überwindung des israelisch- palästinensischen Konfliktes</li><li>Rolle der Zivilgesellschaften für Demokratisierungsprozesse im Nahen und Mittleren Osten</li><li>Welche Chancen bietet ein Trialog für Modernisierung, Demokratie und Sicherheit im Nahen Osten?</li><li> Ist der Politische Islam ein Dialogpartner für den Westen?</li></ol> <br><br> This conference, organised by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, is starting a long-term analysis of ongoing developments in this region as well as of the EU and US Middle East policy.<br><br>It is based on many years of project experience of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in the Middle East and North Africa. Instead of talking about partners from this region, we want to talk them. The focal point is the mutual exchange of problem analyses, appropriate solutions and political strategies.
