Berlin Summer School for active citizens from Belarus
The Heinrich Böll Foundation invites tenders under the name of „Green Summer-School for Belarus”.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation is part of the Green political movement that has developed worldwide as a response to the traditional politics of socialism, liberalism, and conservatism. Our main tenets are ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self-determination and justice. We are a green think tank and an international policy network.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation invites twelve young active citizens from Belarus to stay in Berlin from 12 to 26 August 2009.
During the Summer School they will have the opportunity to gain insight of the functioning of politics and civic engagement in Germany in the following three topics:
• Energy and environment politics
• European politics
• Human rights and minority rights.
Lectures of experts, topic-related workshops, short-term internships in the Heinrich Böll Foundation and in friendly organisations as well as a rich variety of cultural events and many opportunities for get-together will offer a unique chance to get to know in practice the democracy of the German Federal Republic and its embedding in the European Union.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation bears the expenses for travel, visa, programme and accommodation during the Summer School.
If you are resident in Belarus, aged between 20 and 28, with good skills in English, if you are interested and engaged in politics, and if our topics are attractive for you, then please apply for the programme!
