Continued Crisis in Belarus: The European Response

The Parliamentary Election in Belarus on December 19, 2010, was followed by a massive crackdown on the political opposition in the country. This move should have destroyed all illusions about the regime’s character some of Europeans politicians might have held until then. Ms. Beck traveled several times to the country to meet with opposition leaders and civil society activists.
