Das Archivio delle Migranti in Rom
Das Kollektiv Babylonia und das Bildungswerk Berlin der Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung organisieren gemeinsam einen Austausch mit dem Archivio delle Memorie Migranti (AMM) in Berlin. Das AMM wurde 2008 von Asinitas, einer Sprachschule für migrantische Personen in Rom, ins Leben gerufen. Asinitas verbindet Sprache lehren und Sprache lernen methodisch mit Möglichkeiten des Selbstausdrucks, als Werkzeug, um vergangene und aktuelle traumatische Erfahrungen und Erinnerungen zu einer neuen Identität zu verweben. Diese Methode findet insbesondere im Projekt von AMM einen konkreten Rahmen. Das Archiv entstand aus dem Wunsch, durch die Nutzung verschiedener story-telling-Verfahren (Sprache, Bilder etc.) eine polyphone Erzählung der Realität zu ermöglichen.
Durch partizipative und kollektive Prozesse der Kommunikation und Produktion möchte das AMM neue Räume für migrantische Erfahrungen im italienischen und internationalen kollektiven Gedächtnis schaffen. Das Projekt reflektiert die Komplexität der heutigen Welt und verhandelt Machtstrukturen bei der Filmproduktion und den Repräsentationen von Alterität neu.
Dagmawi Ymer (Präsident von Archivio delle Memorie Migranti, Filmemacher mit migrantischer Erfahrung; er hat seinen ersten Film, ‘Como un uomo sulla terra’, bei AMM produziert) und Alexandra D'Onofrio (Anthropologin, Filmemacherin und Erzählerin, Mitbegründerin von Asnada, das Schwesterprojekt von Asinitas in Mailand) werden vom 10. - 12. November 2017 uns die Arbeit des Archivs vorstellen und einen Workshop zu partizipativem, kollektiven und multidisziplinären Storytelling migrantischer Erfahrungen durchführen.

The Babylonia collective and Bildungswerk Berlin der Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung organise an exchange with Archivio delle Memorie Migranti (AMM) in Berlin. Archivio delle Memorie Migranti (AMM) is a Rome-based project initiated in 2008 in the frame of Asinitas, a school of italian for migrant people. Asinitas methodology mixes language teaching and work on language as a possibility of self expression and tool to sew past and present, traumatic experiences and memories in a new identity. This methodology found a concrete outlet in the project of Archivio delle Memorie Migranti (AMM). The archive responds to the urge of creating a polyphonic tale of reality, using different story-telling tools (speech, images etc).
AMM creates participatory and collectives processes of communication and production and carve out a new space for migration experiences in italian and international collective memory. This storytelling project reflects the complexity of the contemporary world while re-negociating power structures in film-making and representation of alterity.
Dagmawi Ymer (vice president of Archivio delle Memorie Migranti, filmmaker with a migrant personal experience, who made his first movie in AMM to tell his story, "Come un uomo sulla terra"), and Alexandra D'Onofrio (anthropologist, filmmaker and storyteller, co-founder of Asnada - the branch of Asinitas in Milano) will join us in Berlin from the 10th to the 12th of November 2017 for a public presentation of the archive's work and a practical workshop on participative, collective and multidisciplinary storytelling around migration experiences.
November 10th, Friday, 7 p.m.: public presentation of AMM and open discussion with Dagmawi Ymer and Alexandra d'Onofrio on storytelling, memory, political urges, media and representation of alterity.
November 11th, Saturday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.: multimedia workshop on storytelling and migration experiences
