European Energy Security after the European Council: Quo Vadis?

BÖLL LUNCH LECTURE

With energy becoming an increasingly salient issue within the European Union and abroad, the EU Regional Office of the Heinrich Böll Foundation is pleased to introduce a series of ‘Böll Lunch Lectures’ on the theme of European energy security, which will touch upon such issues as the use of Biofuels, the energy perspectives of the Visegrad States, and EU-Russian energy relations.

The first lunch lecture that will launch this series will focus on the recent meeting of the European Council on 8-9 March 2007. In this framework the event particularly aims to critically assess the means and policies that the EU intends to undertake in order to ensure Europe’s energy security.

Speakers:
Michael Schulz, Permanent Representation of Germany to the European Union
and
Jean-Claude Schwartz, DG Energy and Transport, Unit C – Energy Policy and Security of Supply

Chair:
