Equitable Climate Finance for Africa
Current models of financing do not match Africa’s climate change priorities. With approximately 80 percent of all climate finance directed to mitigation, adaptation, which is a priority for Africa, remains grossly underfunded. This event, co-hosted by Heinrich Böll Foundation, will discuss ways of ensuring more equitable access for Africa to global climate finance. Moving Beyond Nuclear and Coal?
The Heinrich Böll Foundation and Earthlife Africa Johannesburg invite you to a panel discussion that presents the ambitious transition of three countries (Germany, Japan and South Africa) toward a low-carbon economy in light of the risks and high costs demonstrated by Fukushima. The developed world perspective will give insight into a community that is deeply divided on the issue of nuclear power and which needs a serious change to be ready to for the challenges ahead.
Panelists:
