How Germany’s Greens See Europe’s Financial Crisis

The Heinrich Böll Stiftung North America and the American Council on Germany cordially invite you to attend a Discussion and Luncheon with Ralf Fücks on “How Germany’s Greens See Europe’s Financial Crisis”.
Ralf Fücks is President of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung and has been a member of its Executive Board since 1996. Together with his colleagues, he rebuilt the foundation completely, moving its headquarters to Berlin. In November 2006, he was re-elected for a fourth term. The primary focus of his work is on sustainable development, reshaping the welfare state, migration, the future of European integration, and international policy. He is responsible for the divisions of domestic political education, Europe and North America, German-Israeli relations as well as the foundation’s scholarship program. Mr. Fücks has served in regional politics in Bremen, both as senator for urban development and environmental protection and as Deputy Mayor. As a member of the Green Party’s Program Commission, he coauthored the new party program which was adopted in spring 2002. In 2000, then-Minister of the Interior Otto Schily appointed him a member of the nonpartisan commission on migration which presented its final report in July 2001. In 1991, he was editor of the book Sind die Grünen Noch zu Retten? (Is There a Future for the Green Party?). He is a regular contributor to numerous newspapers and political periodicals and coauthor of numerous books.
