A briefing on operational strategy in ESDP operations – 1325 in action

The SDA is pleased to invite you to the inaugural meeting of the 1325 EU Partnership on October 11 on the ‘Operational strategy in ESDP operations – 1325 in action’.
 
This partnership aims to provide a forum for high-level policy makers to enhance discussion and understanding of gender perspectives within the EU, especially for those involved in European Security and Defence Policy and Common Foreign and Security Policy who do not normally work on gender.

Introduction to 1325 and gender perspectives

The meeting will consist of a:
  • Short introduction to UNSC Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security, and gender perspectives.
  • Briefing on integrating gender perspectives, UNSCR 1325 and Council mechanisms, using the example of EUFOR RD Congo.
  • General exchange of ideas and lessons learnt, recommendations and best practices on integrating gender perspectives into ESDP missions.
