International workshop: The role of media in successful communication of sustainabilty
Strategies for a successful communication of sustainability in Europe -
3rd workshop: The role of media in successful communication of sustainabilty
Within today’s information society, media does play an increasing role. Whether politics or personal relationships, social life is taking place via TV and internet. But as well older media cultures as radio and printing press still get through to a big amount of people in different target groups. Public discourse takes place in the media today. What is not present in media, is not noticed by public. It is obvious that sustainable development and its necessity can only be comprehensible, if it is present in the various kinds of media. But the interest of media in topics related to sustainability is still rather small. In how far sustainability is already present in media? Which role does media play concerning the communication of sustainability? Which experience is existing and what are the chances and challenges with regard to the future of successful communication of sustainability?
