Through the enlargement process the Western Balkans became a priority of EU foreign policy. Nevertheless, some of the progress that has taken place over the last years is being hampered by political and institutional crises in some countries of the Western Balkans. The youngest European state, Kosovo, provides a big challenge for the new European foreign policy, but also for its citizens as well as its government and parliament.

Ulrike Lunacek, Member of the European Parliament from Austria for the Greens/EFA Group and Standing Rapporteur for Kosovo of the European Parliament will give an insight into present developments in Kosovo as well as challenges for Kosovo’s European future.
