Diskussionsveranstaltung mit: <br><br> <b>Thomas Sanderson</b>, Deputy Director der Transnational Threats Initiative beim Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington DC <br><br> Thomas Sanderson ist zurzeit als Bosch Public Policy Fellow an der American Academy in Berlin. Er schreibt zum Inhalt seines einleitenden Vortrages, der die Verbindungen zwischen dem transnationalen Terrorismus und dem organisierten Verbrechen zum Inhalt haben wird: <br> "Stopping financial support for terrorist groups is an important component of the global campaign against transnational terrorism. A reduction in state funding and a slowing of charitable donations has forced terrorists into more criminal activity. High levels of corruption in dozens of nations and increasing connections between terrorism and criminality further challenges those confronting terrorists. This presents a growing problem for the United States, Europe and other partners who have experienced only marginal success against both crime and terrorism."
